St. Luke’s-Elks Rehab has the only Sports Residency Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association in the state of Idaho, and is currently accepting applications for the 2012 residency program beginning in August. The 12-month residency includes mentorship in both clinical and academic settings, providing physical therapists an opportunity to increase competency in sports physical therapy, ultimately preparing the resident to take the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties exam in Sports Physical Therapy. Sports Residents are licensed physical therapists who are seeking the distinguished Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) designation. The program focuses on five primary areas:
Upon conclusion of the Sports Residency Program, our former residents have accepted positions with a professional hockey team in Canada and the US Women's Tennis Association.
